Covid-19 Vaccinations Eligibility (Northern Ireland)
The SPPG has introduced a scheme in Northern Ireland to offer the COVID vaccine to eligible groups for free through community pharmacies. At present, for Spring 2024 those groups are:
- All residents in a care home registered with the RQIA
- Aged 75 years or older
- Immunosuppressed patients aged 18 to 74 years (as defined in table 3 in the COVID-19 chapter of the Green Book)
including pregnant women - based on evidence supplied by the patient such as a GP letter, hospital letter or medication records etc. - Frontline health and social care workers
**No other groups of patients are eligible at this time.
The COVID-19 vaccination helps protect against severe illness. During the Autumn/Winter programme, the NHS offers vaccination to groups at higher risk.
